For those of you who don’t know, in college I did crew (aka Rowing). I was a coxswain for the men’s heavyweight team, which, yes, is the way I met Nate. Anyway, my sophomore year, my entire rowing class lived together in a house along with the lightweights from our year. So, I lived with all guys. Twelve all together. Twenty year old boys. Special, I know. I was the only girl in the house.
I kept a journal during that time, which is actually part of what got me more seriously writing. Here’s a glimpse of what like was like at 204 S. 42nd Street.
Please note how cute my room was in the first two pictures. The rest of the house…not so cute!
Status: Exciting news today–I was contacted to audition for the Beacon Street Girls series! I contacted them awhile ago and today I heard back. Within a week I have to write a 5 pages from a chapter outline and send in a writing sample and resume. The series is aimed at girls between 9-13 and is super cute. I went out and bought a couple of the books today to get a better feel for the project.
Also, I picked up I’d Tell You I love You But Then I’d Have to Kill You and Twilight from the library today and finished Confessions of Nat Turner.
Finally, Ben told me that rough drafts would be ready on July 6th for the first 10-15 pages and I am supposed to have the script pages to him by tomorrow. So far I’ve given him 7 pages worth. I’m trying to have close to the entire script done by July 18th. Oh boy.
