  • Nice interview – I couldn’t make it through The Time Traveler’s Wife, though. Too slow for me at the time.

  • I don’t enter contest because I don’t want other people coping my work or putting their name on it and selling it . When I see those adds send us poetry I think they get 200 people to send them poetry they pay a entry fee to be in the contest . Your writings are no longer yours but become property of the person running the contest makes me worry. What I send them will become part of a book with their name on it .

  • Technically, as soon as you put your work in tangible form, then it is your property and illegal for someone else to copy. Ideas, however, cannot be copyrighted.

    I do question entry fees–though some of are legit. You should research contests before you enter through forums such as Absolute Write Bewares and Background Checks.

    Poetry.com is a scam, though. If that’s what you were referring to.
