Hi Chandler, I have been following your site with great interest…thanks for the recommendation about the Forest of Hands and Teeth; it was a wonderfully spooky YA read.
I am a debut novelist with a work of literary fiction, Jackson Heights, recently sold to Spiegel and Grau. I am interested in how you put together your ‘critique group’ since that seems like one alternative to doing a formal MFA — to have some sort of community. I remember having that very fondly as an undergrad (and friends from undergrad read early versions of pieces that went into my novel eventually).
I am also interested in YA and have an idea — am very inspired by Sherman Alexie, who writes both ‘regular’ literary fiction and young adult so brilliantly. Would love to join your critique group for that work in progress sometime this summer perhaps.
