I’ve been painfully remiss at updating lately, attributable mainly to the fact that I started work a couple weeks ago (and unofficially to the fact that there has been a Bridezillas marathon on).
I thought I’d do a quick update.
Last week I accomplished the following: I opened the word document of my current draft of rewrites. The next day, I made sure to keep the word doc open because, after all, it had taken exactly a week and a half to open it in the first place. The day after that I managed to read a couple chapters of the draft and think to myself that it wasn’t completely terrible. This was good news. Shortly thereafter, I think I opened another word document full of random notes, hoping they would tell me what I was supposed to do next. They didn’t. So, instead I stared at the draft some more. I managed to delete a few words. This wasn’t the direction I was hoping to go in. I searched the entire folder of items I had related to Scout. Still no answers. In sum, word documents are still open and I solemnly swear not to close them for any reason or who knows how long the rebooting process could take next time around.
I did manage to wrangle some brainstorming help from a few writing friends, so all in all, I’m feeling pretty lucky.
Well done! I was wondering what had become of you!
baby steps – thats what it takes…hang in there
Sounds like you are a busy lady. It’s good to hear you’re alive, well, and revising.
Like you, my agent is really understanding about taking time to get it right.
