So, I haven’t blogged in a bit, but for good reason. As y’all might have noticed from following me on twitter, a couple weeks ago I was staying up late, getting up early, all to finish my manuscript and turn it into Agent Dan.
Well, at 4:00 AM on a Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, I sent Agent Dan that manuscript and then promptly decided I needed a break from writing and from my book before getting back to the final, nitty gritty revisions. In other news, I was also freaking out. I don’t know if I’ve ever been so worried about anything I’ve turned in. I’m chalking it up to the fact that I worked so hard on it that I was terrified for my agent to hate it, but really, I’m not sure what my deal was.
Last night, though, I got the notes from my agent and his assistant and–thank God!–he loved it. In fact, he’s already working on the pitch letter, which means I will be going back out with this very, very soon.
So, what do I have to do over the next week or so? Well, today I’m mulling over the notes and implementing the little line edits set into the track changes feature of my ms. My agent has pointed out about 8-10 specific page numbers where he wants issues addressed. Then, I have a scene to add and a bit more work on the first chapter. Plus, my crit partner has had the manuscript, so I will read through her comments and address those issues as well.
The book ended up coming in at 61k and with the additions I think I’ll be looking at about 65k. I have pics to post from the night I finished.
And most importantly, I just got back from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, so I’ll be posting a review from the park!
